Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I write about urban roots music, television, and occasionally politics.

My motto is Explore, Enjoy, and Share new Music! Enjoy!

Who Is Mr. Robot's Landlord?: Kor Adana + Mr. Robot

Who Is Mr. Robot's Landlord?: Kor Adana + Mr. Robot

Hello, this is my first Mr. Robot (USA) transmission of the year (as we all ramp up towards the still unannounced premiere date for the second season).

As I have mentioned a few times before, I decided to start writing about television (in addition to just music) because I was so inspired by Episode 7 (eps1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flv).

I still firmly believe that that episode was the best hour of television of the last year (non-calendar).

HERE is what I wrote at the time (I hope that I have gotten better since then, that was literally my first attempt at a television show recap).

Today on Reddit, writer and consultant Kor Adana participated in an "Ask Us Anything" session about the show Mr. Robot. Here was my question and Kor Adana's kind answer:

Kor Adana is a technical consultant on Mr. Robot, but I could not ignore the opportunity to ask a music question (the writers room is the writers room, right?).

Here are a few other articles about his contributions:

His response confirmed what I expected, that the inclusion of the song "Pictures of You" was not accidental and was baked-in to the episode well in advance. I really loved the show before Episode 7, but Sam Esmail's thoughtful use of music as a driver of the plot (not just a throwaway element) really convinced me that this was a different kind of show entirely.

If you read the rest of the Reddit exchange, you will see that the same level of care and attention to detail is exhibited across every element of the process of the show. How many shows have we all seen where the "computer expert" or "hacker" sits down hits some keys and magically has written an algorithm that solves a huge law enforcement or corporate bottleneck in mere seconds. Mr. Robot is the first show on television that actually cares about the accuracy about how hacking is presented.

So, the bigger news, my recaps of Mr. Robot will be returning whenever the show returns to the USA network this summer. so, Look out for "Who Is Mr. Robot's Landlord?" coming soon.

Are you excited for Season 2 of Mr. Robot? What did you love about the show? Make my comment section your canvas to discuss Season 2, leave a comment!
