Music News?
So, I am trying this format to communicate the music stories that speak to me every day (instead of just posting the links). Usually, I want to say more than is allowed in a Tweet.
Oh, I am also going to start a podcast soon, in fact, I have my new microphone right in front of me and I am about to start trying to figure out the technical end of this stuff.
As you can guess, it will be called "I Hate Radio" which is my response to "I Heart Radio."

Pusha T and Prison Reform
We are dealing with one aspect of the over-sentencing problem in Michigan right now as AG Bill Schuette (who is a Trump supporter running for Gov. in 2018) continues to drag his feet after the SCOTUS two different times declared that it was unconstitutional for States to sentence juveniles to life without the possibility of parole.
The problem is, however, much more wide-ranging than just juvenile over sentencing.
As part of ECCO and the My Sentence campaign, Hip-Hop artist Pusha T (Clipse) is sharing the story of Norman Brown who was sentenced to a life sentence for selling crack at a young age. You can read more about the story at Pitchfork.
Exotica - Musique Exotique #01
If you have been following me long enough, you know that one of my favorite bands of 2015 was New York's La Misma. Not sure how I missed this 2016 album by the band Exotica which features members of La Misma.
