New Book On "The Replacements?" Count Me In
Just saw the news, a new official bio of The Replacements is under way with the participation of three of the remaining members.
For me, this is pretty close to as good as it gets.
Very few bands have ever been as punk rock and/or rock star than the replacements.
One of My Key Bands
If you follow my playlists, the Placemats show up pretty frequently and they have always been one of my favorite bands.
As you might know, the are from Minneapolis and have, over the years said some unkind things about Prince. I kind of consider Prince and The Replacements to be the Yin and Yang of my music taste.
Here are the official details (be ready for a full review about two weeks after the book comes out:
"Bob Mehr's new book Trouble Boys: The True Story of the Replacements. It's out March 1 via Da Capo Press. The 520-page book was written with the participation of Paul Westerberg, Tommy Stinson, Slim Dunlap, and the late Bob Stinson's family members. Over the past decade, Mehr conducted hundreds of interviews and was given full access to the band's archives. That's the book's cover below."
What do you think of the Replacements? Are you looking forward to the release of the book? Let me know what you think, leave a comment!
