I am changing my social messaging strategy, so I am moving my thoughts about the day's music news to a regular column here. This will give me the chance to comment on the stories in a bit more than 140 characters.

Oh, I am also going to start a podcast soon, more on that as I get it all setup. As you can guess, it will be called "I Hate Radio" which is my response to "I Heart Radio."

Colin Newman of Wire - Interview With One of My Music Heroes

So, I absolutely worship Wire. If you are unfamiliar, this article is a very good primer and also includes an interview with Colin Newman. If you get a chance, listen to the first three albums (they are on Spotify - Pink Flag, Chair's Missing, and 154 (you will thank me later).

NOTS Are Something You SHOULD Listen To

This Memphis band's excellent album "Cosmetic" did not make my top 45 albums of 2016 but it was probably #46 or #47 and I pushed several times this year. Anyway, they are well worth your time and if you check out this article you can stream the album (it is also on Spotify) and read NOTS top ten tour stops of 2016 list. NOTS are on Heavenly Recordings.

Nine Inch Nails Will Release an EP Soon

Leave it to Trent Reznor to sell his new EP as "impenetrable" and "unfriendly."

Anyway, Nine Inch Nails will be releasing a new EP and rereleasing their entire catalog in the near future. Like most other people my age, I spent too much of my time getting sweaty (at dance clubs...chill) to songs like March of the Pigs and Head Like a Hole...So, I will probably love it.

Okay, that does it. I won't pretend that I will cover everything every day, but I will cover the stuff that is interesting to me (and I have a TON of music alerts set on Google.
