The “Cred Reduction Agent” Spotify Playlist + "Who The F" is Dion Lunadon?
The “Cred Reduction Agent” Spotify Playlist
Every week I put out a new curated playlist for your listening enjoyment.
I love writing about television and ethics, but my true love is music. This blog started as a music blog and evolved slowly into a television blog (but my heart is still in sharing new music).
You can "Just Hit Play" or check out more about the featured artists below. Throughout the week, there will be new entries about the bands and songs on the playlist.
Dion Lunadon "Reduction Agent"
So, who the F is Dion Lunadon?
My first answer is it doesn't matter. Dion's self-titled first album is so damn good I don't care who he is. This album is like the illegitimate offspring of an unholy union between The Cramps, Mojo Nixon, and Ty Segall.
I absolutely love this album, it starts out in a sonic riot and just keeps on rolling. Noise, angst, catharsis, sloppy lived-in songs with extra helpings of feedback and fuzz.
But okay, just for kicks, Dion Lunadon is/was the bassist for the band "A Place To Bury Strangers" (from New Zealand) and while I "liked" APTBS, I love Dion's solo album (2017, Agitated Records).
I spent a LOT of time debating which of the many songs I love from the album on the playlist but finally decided on "Reduction Agent" because it really fit well with that Kevin Morby song and I didn't want to push too hard before the Melvins tune.
Anyway, if you don't listen to this album, I will actually be disappointed. This album is a five-alarm fire of a good time!
Not only great songs on this album but also great videos too (check the video for Howl out)
Closing Time
Okay, enjoy the playlist, I will do a deep-dive into one of the other bands on the playlist tomorrow. Let me know what you think! To hear more of my playlists check out the slider below! I call my site "On Pirate Satellite" because of the song "This is Radio Clash" by The Clash. The crazy names of the playlists were inspired by Captain Beefheart.
