Much Better Effort Against Wisconsin, Still Not The Best Judgment

1/17/2017 - We had them...Up by 6 with less than 7 minutes left (I think). But then we gave up a 12 point Wisconsin run and that was that. Actually, even after we blew it, we almost made it back by fouling. At what turned out to be the most important moment of the game, Xavier Simpson got a steal and the ref said he stepped on the baseline (he didn't). We had one more chance and let Wisconsin get a rebound after a missed free-throw. So frustrating, they played so much harder tonight but just kept making small mistakes at the most terrible times.

As Zack Novak, one of the toughest Wolverine defenders in recent memory, tweeted at the end of the game, "Senior misses 2 FT block outs. Can't happen if you want to win." And at the end of the day, the Defense was still not great when it mattered the most

Was good to see Coach Beilein using Simpson and Teske more (someone has been suggesting that for a long time). Great to see improvement on D and RB's but still a long way to go. #GoBlue

Football: Wheatley, C.J. Thorpe, Go Karts, & Oliver Martin News

1/17/2017 - So, Coach Harbaugh did go on his visit to see Aubrey Solomon. Harbaugh took his daughter and they and Aubrey Solomon's whole family went Go-Kart racing (Sam Webb of the Wolverine.com posted some cool pictures on Twitter. There is no doubt that Coach Harbaugh has fun with these trips.

Unfortunately, we are losing Coach Tyrone Wheatley (RB's) to the Jacksonville Jaguars (working for Doug Marrone). Michigan's running game has improved in scoring and yardage in both of Coach Wheatley's years with the team and he was recently ranked the #7 recruiter in the nation. Land of 10 provided this list of possible replacements for Wheatley.

C.J Thorpe, long a highly-ranked Penn State OG commit, is taking an in-home visit with U of M coaches tonight and an official visit to the campus next week. This is likely the result of Michigan OL commit Kai-Leon Herbert taking several new official visits in recent weeks. Iowa WR prospect Oliver Martin is also getting a visit from Michigan along with several other schools in the next few weeks.
